Sliced Audio

Split long audio at pauses

Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 6, 2026

This is the main version of this policy. Versions in other languages are translations for your convenience. If they differ, the English version applies.

The short version

  • You don't need an account. We don't ask for your name, email or anything else about you.
  • Your file is used only to split it. It is deleted automatically, usually within hours and never later than about a day after the upload.
  • We don't sell data and don't show ads.
  • The site doesn't set its own cookies.

What we process and why

Your file. Your file goes to our file storage. The server checks that it is audio, finds the pauses, makes the previews and the parts, and packs the parts into a ZIP. We use the file only for this. We don't share it or use it for anything else.

The file name. The name of your file isn't sent to our server when you upload it. When you download the ZIP, the site sends the name once, so the ZIP gets the same name as your file (for example, “My book.zip”). Our server uses the name only for this download and doesn't save it.

Facts about the file and your settings. For each file we keep a short record: its length, format and audio quality, the part length, speed and format you chose, the number of parts, the size of the ZIP and any error code. The record has no file name, no sound and nothing about you. We need it to run the service and fix errors.

Your IP address. We use it to limit how many files one address can process per hour. This protects the service from abuse. Our server keeps the address only in its working memory, not in a database or in logs. It is forgotten about an hour after your last request, or sooner if the server restarts. For IPv6 addresses we keep only the first half of the address.

The link to your file. Each upload gets a long random code, and the site adds it to the page address (?job=…). Anyone with this link can see the progress and download the parts until the files are deleted. Don't share the link if you don't want others to get the parts.

We use this data only to run the service and to protect it from abuse.

How long we keep it

Your file, the previews, the parts and the ZIP6 hours after the last result (pauses found, previews or ZIP ready), but never more than 1 day after the upload started
A file whose upload didn't finishThe upload link works for 3 hours. Anything left over is deleted within about 1 day.
A working copy of your file on the server's disk30 minutes after the last result if you don't ask for anything new
The file nameNot stored
Your IP addressIn memory only, about 1 hour after your last request
The record about the file (no file name, no sound, nothing about you)Kept after the file is deleted

Files are deleted automatically, whether or not you downloaded the parts. You can't delete them earlier yourself, and we can't restore them.

Who else is involved

  • Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it. Cloudflare sees your IP address and the pages you request, and may set its own strictly necessary security cookies.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you're not a robot. When you open the page, your browser loads Turnstile from Cloudflare. When you choose a file, Turnstile checks your browser, usually without asking you anything. For this, Cloudflare receives technical data about your browser and your IP address. Our server then asks Cloudflare whether the check passed. It doesn't send Cloudflare your IP address.
  • DigitalOcean hosts our server and file storage in Frankfurt, Germany. Your file goes straight to this storage, not through Cloudflare, so the storage server sees your IP address while it receives and sends files.

Cloudflare is a separate company with its own privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy and the Turnstile Privacy Addendum: cloudflare.com/turnstile-privacy-policy.

The fonts come from our own site. The site makes no other requests to outside services.

Cookies and browser storage

The site doesn't set its own cookies and doesn't save anything in your browser. Your language is part of the page address (for example, /en/). Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies, as described above.

We don't use analytics or advertising. If we add analytics later, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first. Analytics won't load until you agree.

Your rights

You can write to [email protected] to ask what we keep about you and to ask us to delete it.

We keep almost nothing that points to you: no account, no name, no email, and your IP address stays in memory for about an hour. Your files are deleted automatically within a day at most, so there is usually nothing left about you by the time we reply.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. If the change is important, for example when we add analytics, we will also say so on the site.
